Spotify launches in Germany

Finally launched in Germany. The service was previously only available in 9 countries, including France and the UK, but with Germany being the third largest music market in the world the launch is sure to be very popular. The country becomes the 13th territory.

Spotify founder and CEO Daniel Ek said: “Germany has one of the most cutting edge music scenes in the world and a passion for music that is second to none. It’s time you were given the music service you deserve.

Thank you for all your feedback. Wow, we are overwhelmed with all the new customers lately, we are really excited. New releases will be posted on our blog today so stay tuned for more new music to enjoy!

Summary
These new features will be a great improvement for the artist using the free account. This allows them track their popularity with the choice to upgrade to a subscription based plus account whenever they feel that the streams are becoming significant. The plus account is a good choice for established artists to get paid for their streams and track their popularity.
